The size of automobile tires is the most important parameter when choosing them. The Michelin company is providing to the buyers tires of the various sizes, therefore it is necessary to treat the choice of them with maximal responsibility.

On the sidewall of tires the necessarily stated parameters are the manufacturer, the model of the tire, and also its standard size. On the example of the tire Michelin Pilot Primacy 235 / 45 R17 W let us consider the basic designations specified when marking tires. Pilot Primacy is the name the of model of the tire, 235 is the width of the section (in millimeters), 45 is the height of the section expressed as a percentage of the width (235 * 45 % = 105,75 mm), R17 is the diameter of the disk, on which this tire is to be installed, W is the index of speed (270 km/hour). Besides that, there are additional parameters, the value of which is also very often marked on tires.

The maximal size of tires from Michelin is 285/55 R19 V (the index of speed V designates that the tires are designed for the speed of up to 240 km/hour inclusive). These are tires for off-road cars of the highest class Michelin 4Ñ…4 Diamaris.
